This decision follows the retirement of the bank’s founder, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, who will conclude his tenure on 9 July

Bandhan Bank has announced that Ratan Kumar Kesh, currently serving as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role of interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) starting 10 July 2024.

This decision follows the retirement of the bank’s founder, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, who will conclude his tenure on 9 July. The bank shared this update in a regulatory filing with the stock exchange.

Kesh's appointment has been approved by the Reserve Bank of India and will span three months or until a permanent MD & CEO is appointed, whichever comes first. Shareholder approval is also required for this interim appointment.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the banking sector, Kesh has held various leadership positions across different domains, including technology, operations, and customer experience. Before joining Bandhan Bank in March 2023, he worked with prominent institutions such as ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, and Axis Bank.

At Bandhan Bank, Kesh has been instrumental in driving key functions like technology, operations, customer experience, and digital transformation. He is credited with leading the bank’s IT transformation and enhancing its processes, controls, and customer services.
