Tata Management and Training Centre bagged the Best Experiential Learning award at the BW HR L&D Excellence Summit and Awards 2021 on March 31st earlier this year. TMTC has been recognised for its excellence in pedagogy in helping leaders across companies and domains to introspect, learn and model the best versions of themselves through their innovative paradigms of leadership skills development which both complements and fosters group culture at large.
In the wake of the Global Pandemic and the ‘Work From Home’ reality, TMTC unveiled an open-to-all webinar series titled, “Learning Latitudes” as a free knowledge, learning and information resource for all Tata Group employees. In five months after its inauguration, the series presented the 100th Learning Latitudes webinar delivered on “Why Leadership Matters”. Over the course of the series, they also featured celebrities like Ashish Vidyarthi who shared his journey from Bollywood actor to an inspirational speaker and Anant Agarwal, the Founder of edX, who dealt with 'Learning to Reinvent and Thrive’. The initiative has completed over 160 Webinars on multiple themes featuring a total of 24,000 unique participants from 51 Tata Group companies, clocking in a monumental number of 47,000 learning hours.
Explaining their key initiative, TMTC states they review their approach and pedagogy with Bloom’s Taxonomy (Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analysing, Evaluating, & Creating) of Learning, thus helping the participants execute what they’re learning as well. The approach obtains feedback from participants and surveys the effectiveness of the programs constantly.
The organization incurred no additional cost in carrying out the initiative owing to the online delivery medium. All webinars are hosted in-house by the TMTC technical team with a nominated host who interacted with the speaker. The webinar series used traditional advertisement models like online campaigns, regular issues of event collaterals and sending invites to participants from existing databases.
TMTC credits the quality of content, speakers, the relevance of the topics, the communication medium and engagement garner as the key enablers for the success of the initiative. They also stated to have used LinkedIn to their advantage to ensure participation in large numbers alongside sending out personalised email invites to companies and reaching out to past participants.
