Psychology textbook definition of implicit biases read that it refers to individual actions which are happening, when despite our best intentions and without our awareness, racial stereotypes and assumptions creep into our minds and affect our actions. It can be understood as thoughts that we have about people without actually knowing that we had them. These biases when manifested in a workplace can negatively impact the diversity and inclusivity in practices such as recruiting, hiring and promotion practices.
