Noel Tata To Carry Forward Tata Trust's Legacy By Succeeding Ratan Tata As New Chairperson

Following a board meeting today in Mumbai, Noel Tata, Ratan Tata's half-brother, has been named Chairman of Tata Trust. Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86 in a Mumbai hospital, will now be succeeded by Noel.

Titan Watch Company and Tata Steel both have Noel Tata as Vice Chairman. Currently serving as chairman of Trent, Voltas, Tata Investment Corporation, and Tata International, his mother Simone Tata is a French-Swiss Catholic and Ratan Tata's stepmother.


Since joining the Tata Group in the early 2000s, Noel Tata has played a significant role in its expansion.

The 14 Tata trusts are managed by Tata Trust, which serves as an umbrella organisation.


The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, which together account for more than 50 per cent of the company's ownership, holds the majority of the shares in Tata Sons.
