Mahindra & Mahindra has revised its maternity policy for its employees. As per the revisions, the new benefit will be provided to female employees and new mothers with six months of flexible work structure and 24 months of hybrid work choice.
After the completion of the 26-week mandated maternity leave, the benefit will be provided with consent from the line manager. Some of the perks provided by the company are one-year pre-childbirth assistance, including In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) therapy (cost reimbursement of 75 per cent), compensation for everyday travels to work, outstation travel advantages of premium economy or business class travel during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Furthermore, according to the company's five-year ambitions, it will include one year pre-maternity, one year of pregnancy, and three years post-pregnancy until the child is not yet ready to attend playschool.
The company is aiming to increase gender diversity while simultaneously retaining gender diversity. Furthermore, the majority of women in the labour sector choose a career pause or leave their jobs after having a child.
To reduce such occurrences, numerous organisations have designed their policies to provide flexibility in order to retain female employees.
