The administration of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has launched a recruitment drive, the first in nearly eight years. The university appointed 38 permanent staff members on 20 October 2023. Furthermore, the university announced that the highest number of non-teaching staff members, 300, will be appointed by December 2023.
The announcement was made on X, formerly known as Twitter, by the university's social media handle. "After a gap of approximately 8 years, JNU administration has launched a recruitment drive and appointed 38 permanent staff on October 20, 2023. In addition, the highest number of non-teaching staff appointments to date will be made by December 2023."
The university has long struggled with understaffing issues, which has resulted in operational challenges and increased workloads for existing employees.
