Learning Aggregators & AI: Revolutionising Learning & Development

Experts from various industries recently shared their insights into how these technologies are shaping the future of workforce training.

Learning and Development (L&D) is undergoing a remarkable transformation with the adoption of AI and immersive technologies. These advancements are enabling organisations to scale their training programs, enhance personalisation, and create inclusive learning environments. Experts from various industries recently shared their insights into how these technologies are shaping the future of workforce training.

AI-Powered Learning Systems
AI has become a pivotal tool in modernising workforce training by offering personalised and adaptive learning experiences. Lalit Suresh, Global Head of Learning & Development at Torry Harris Integration Solutions, highlighted the transformative potential of AI in Learning Management Systems (LMS). He stated, “AI can measure learners' progress and their level of engagement while recommending corrective actions proactively. Its predictive capabilities allow it to identify learning patterns, behaviours, and interventions, which can be delivered in real time.”
However, Suresh emphasised the importance of maintaining IT compliance and cybersecurity measures. He added, “As more organisations rely on AI-driven LMS systems, it’s crucial to focus on robust IT compliance and cybersecurity to ensure data integrity and build trust among employees.”

Immersive Technologies Elevating Training
Immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are redefining the learning experience by creating engaging, real-world simulations. Suresh shared examples of how AR and VR are enhancing training, including DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs where AR measures learner engagement. He explained, “VR can replicate an expert virtually, allowing employees to interact in a controlled environment while building skills. These technologies can effectively replicate real-world scenarios, enabling hands-on practice without the associated risks.”

Blending Technology with Human-Centric Training
Organisations are also integrating traditional training methods with advanced technologies to achieve better outcomes. Mamatha Devi, General Manager - HR at TTK Prestige, explained, “We use a mix of methods, such as classroom training, on-the-job training, and learning management systems powered by AI. This approach enhances scalability and delivers personalised feedback that is relevant to specific roles.”
Devi further noted the role of AI in promoting inclusivity. “Through AI-driven learning systems, we’ve been able to reach employees from diverse backgrounds, offering content in multiple regional languages,” she said, highlighting the importance of breaking down language barriers in training.

Building Impactful Learning Content
The success of any training program lies in the relevance and quality of its content. Nuzhath Ayaz, Vice President of Learning & Leadership Enhancement at Axis Bank, emphasised, “Good content design is similar to running a restaurant. You need to understand your customer, build stakeholder buy-in, and ensure scalability.”

Ayaz shared an example of leadership simulations designed by her team. “We put leaders in high-pressure situations and tested their decision-making skills. This gave us insight into their strengths and areas for improvement, enabling targeted coaching and upskilling,” she explained.

Real-World Applications
AI and immersive technologies are already making a significant impact. At TTK Prestige, AI chatbots are transforming the onboarding experience. Devi explained, “We use AI-driven data analytics to identify gaps in the onboarding process and deliver a personalised onboarding experience.”
Similarly, Axis Bank has implemented leadership simulations to evaluate decision-making skills and create tailored development programs. Ayaz remarked, “These simulations provide practical insights into leadership qualities and help us focus on building future-ready leaders.”

Kabir, an expert in immersive learning technologies, also shared valuable insights on how AI and immersive tools are driving changes in L&D. He emphasised, “AI and immersive learning technologies not only make learning more engaging but also more effective. They enable organizations to scale training, measure learner progress, and provide real-time interventions. These technologies help us cater to diverse learner needs and create personalised learning journeys.”

Kabir also pointed out the significant role immersive learning plays in employee engagement. “By integrating virtual and augmented reality into training programs, we can simulate real-world challenges, enabling employees to practice in a safe, controlled environment,” he said.

With advancements in AI and immersive technologies, organisations are creating innovative, inclusive, and effective learning strategies. By leveraging these tools, L&D teams are paving the way for a future where workforce training is not only scalable but also deeply personalised.
These transformative approaches, as shared by industry leaders at the recent BW Festival of Learning and Development, reflect a dynamic evolution in learning methodologies that aim to empower employees and drive organisational success. The panel was moderated by Kabir Aswani, Vice President - Training Strategy & Operations , Moody's Corporation.
