On Monday, September 2, Hyderabad traffic police are requesting that IT and ITES companies in the city permit their staff members to work from home. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert and an advisory as a result of persistently high rainfall.

"In view of continuous rainfall and the red alert issued by the IMD, I request all IT and ITES companies to encourage work from home on September 2 (Monday)," D said. Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad Joel Davis stated in a social media posting.

He explained that by reducing the hazards involved with travelling during inclement weather, this strategy aims to protect the safety and wellbeing of employees.

"The safety and well-being of employees are of utmost importance, and I believe that allowing them to work from home would minimise the risks associated with commuting during this weather. Additionally, this measure would also help reduce traffic congestion and ensure that emergency services are not hindered," he added.


In addition to this warning, as a precautionary step, all Hyderabadi elementary and secondary schools will be closed on September 2. The directive covers all educational establishments, including government, nonprofit, and private ones, regardless of their management style.
