Infosys has introduced a new work policy for its employees based in the United States and Canada.
While Tech giants like Google, Microsoft and Meta are trying their best to get their employees back to the office with proposals of 3-day workweeks and in-office attendance, India's Infosys seems to have turned the dial back and asked its employees to work for 5 days from office..
"We believe that a hybrid work model is the best way to meet the needs of our employees and our clients," CEO Salil Parekh wrote in an internal email.
With this move, the company wants to reap the benefits of hybrid working coupled with in-office avenues of team collaboration. Will this going to be the best means to create a more social, agile and productive workforce? Well tech companies are leading the way when it comes to pulling the plug on remote work, the success will depend on the willingness and convenience of the employees as priorities have changed on both sides of the table.
The new policy makes remote work an exception to the norm requiring prior approval.
