India’s second-largest IT services company, Infosys has deferred the salary hikes of employees which typically roll out from April. The employees below the senior management level have been affected.
Several employees have not received their pay hikes which typically come in the first quarter. The company has not informed the employees about the delay and has conveyed no information on the estimated date of payment.
The decision comes amidst the current stressful macroeconomic climate. The company previously froze the salary hikes in 2020 due to cash conservation, and later rolled out hikes in January 2021.
Earlier, in an email, the employees were informed about the fourth quarter being impacted due to volatile market conditions and unforeseen events.
