India’s largest domestic airline, IndiGo announced salary hikes for its staff including the pilots and cabin crew. This move comes after the airline recorded a net profit of more than 3000 crore in its first quarter of 2023-24.
The salary hikes and bonuses will be rewarded to nearly 4,500 flight crew and the new salaries will be effective from 1 October.
The airline owning a 60 per cent share of the market reported its highest-ever record-breaking quarterly profit.
According to a media report, the airline stated that they regained momentum and started building their financial strength post the pandemic. The company also shared that the human resource team has started working towards enhancing the salaries of its employees, and the revised structure will be implemented in a few months.
After recording the January-March quarter profit, the airline had announced bonuses to 3 per cent of its crew early this year.
