The majority of Googlers are not keen on Alphabet-owned Google's 3-day in-person attendance requirement. As many as 12000 signatures have been collated in a petition to mark dissent against the company's return to office policy.
A petition calling for a more flexible work arrangement has collected over 12,000 signatures, and a number of Googlers have staged walkouts, disapproving of the policy.
While a large chunk of Google employees reportedly believe that the development hampers their productivity and flexibility, Google's CEO Sundar Pichai in a blog post was quoted as saying that coming to the office is important for the company's culture and long-term success.
As the protests and rallies against the return to office policy continue with employees' unions also getting involved in the picture, Google has reportedly said that it is open to employee feedback. It remains to be seen how the company's top management strikes a common consensus on the issue with the dissatisfied employees.
