The Global HR Congress 2018, a gala celebration of excellence was a two-day multidisciplinary event, held on 6th-7th April 2018 at the sprawling campus of Amity University Haryana. The theme of the Congress ‘ A Multidisciplinary Approach to Organisational Excellence’ attracted eminent speakers and delegates from more than ten countries in the areas of Management including hospitality and tourism, law, psychology health, nursing, and nutrition.
The congress began on an auspicious note with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by a welcome of all speakers and dignitaries by Pro Vice-Chancellor AUH and Conference chairperson Padmakali Banerjee. The co-chair of the Congress BL Dubey and the conference directors Vikas Madhukar, Bhavana Adhikari, Maj Gen PK Sharma, Maj Gen Mahavir Singh and Rishi pal also shared their thoughts during the inaugural session. In her address Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Haryana said, “As the world moves into a dynamic and fast-changing environment, we see large disruptions, technological innovations, coupled with human creativity and explorations. All this is leading us to a new future where traditional practices in the area of management and health will undergo a transformatory change.”
The radically changing, the business landscape is driving the modern human resource management towards the number of challenges and more such challenges are expected to evolve in future too. To address these challenges, HR professionals need to work collaboratively with various areas to add value to the HR functions for highest organizational productivity and efficiency. The Congress received an overwhelming support from corporates, academic institutions, and government bodies. The Congress had Medanta, GBCI, IACP, SIS, Eicher Polaris, Select City Infrastructure and Miles Education- IMA as its partners.
His Excellency, Ambassador Chris Sunday Eze, Nigeria High Commission, emphasized on learning and its fruits for developing economics, “If we change our education system we can go beyond imagination as the students are the leaders of tomorrow. We learn and are inspired to connect to the prestigious universities of India which will help for evolving Africa & its people.” On the occasion of the Global HR Congress 2018, 16 awards and honors in three categories- Alumni Excellence, Corporate Mentors, and Leadership excellence were given to Thought Leaders, alumni, and mentors who have made the recognizable contribution not only in their respective industry but also towards creating and disseminating knowledge.
The inaugural session was also witnessed to the curtain raiser of a book by Padmakali Banerjee,- Power of Positivity- Optimism and the Seventh Sense. A thought leadership, this book is centered around the belief that the world can be transformed into a happier place by nurturing an attitude of optimism.
A compilation of research articles from researchers and practitioners from across the globe was also released in the form of a book -A Multidisciplinary Approach to Excellence with Padmakali Banerjee, Bhavana Adhikari and Rishipal as editors.
Close to 100 Papers were presented in 10 technical sessions. During the course of this Congress, two workshops were also organized-“ HR Assessment tool- Optimism Index” and “Somatic Inkblot series’ which were attended by more than 200 participants.
The Congress concluded with the valedictory function wherein Best Paper Awards were also given. Smriti Arora, Gyanjyoti, Bhartendra Sharma won the best paper award at Global HR Congress 2018.Deepak Narayan Basu Director and Branch Head of Delhi Zone, Simplex Infrastructures and Sarvesh Tiwari, Founder of PR Professionals were the guests of honor during the ceremony and they addressed the gathering sharing with the audience their valuable experiences.
