In a panel discussion, experts from various industries shared their insights on effective learning and development strategies. The conversation highlighted the significance of aligning learning objectives with business goals, personalised learning, and emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Srividya Natarajan, Director of Learning and Organization Development at Flipkart, emphasised the need for learning and development teams to speak the language of business. "We need to understand the business strategy and goals, and align our learning objectives accordingly," she said.

Kasturika Saikia, Director of Talent Skilling at Wipro, stressed the importance of measuring the impact of learning programs. "We need to move beyond vanity metrics and focus on the real impact of our learning programs," she said.

Capt (Dr) Pranav Prasoon Thakur, Chief People Officer at TruKKer, highlighted the need for a balance between technology and human intervention in learning and development. "While technology can enhance learning, human intervention is essential for effective learning," he said.

Johnston Richard, Business Learning Partner at Tesco, emphasised the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace. "Emotional intelligence is critical for effective learning and development, and it's essential for leaders to lead by example," he said.

Prasad Menon, Global Chief People Officer at Amagi Corporation, stressed the need for a human touch in learning and development. "While technology can facilitate learning, human affection and love are essential for nurturing growth," he said.

Vinutha Rao MS, Senior Vice President at HCL Tech, highlighted the importance of personalised learning. "Microlearning can be effective, but it's essential to integrate it with overall learning objectives and personalise it for each individual," she said.

Pankaj Sharma, Head of Talent Management at HealthCare Global Enterprises Limited, emphasised the importance of understanding individual personalities and learning styles. "Customised learning is essential for effective learning and development," he said.

As the industry continues to evolve, the need for a holistic approach to learning and development, one that balances technology with human intervention and emphasises emotional intelligence, personalised learning, and alignment with business goals will be critical for success.
