Emerging Role Of Artificial Intelligence

Kamal Verma works in the recruitment industry for almost two decades. Earlier his work of segregating resumes was extremely time consuming. However, he feels his job is much lighter today. Thanks to artificial intelligence commonly known as AI. Artificial intelligence is a new buzzword in the corporate world. AI helps to read and match resumes more efficiently. It is working as a useful talent acquisition tool. It makes recruiters more productive and well-organized. Artificial intelligence algorithms are used in order to automate tasks like examining resumes, sending follow up emails or finding the right candidate for the vacant position. Human and technology provide bias results while AI is free from this problem. It's emphasize on gathering skills data instead of detecting information on age, gender or race.

According to Amitabh Akhauri, chief human resource officer at Jindal Stainless Limited, “AI will make talent management more objective. It will bring in higher objectivity and transparency. “

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally changing how businesses operate across all sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, IT, and transportation.Advancements in AI over the last decade are presenting opportunities for companies to automate business processes, transform customer experiences, and differentiate products offerings.

AI systems cannot swap HR recruiters. Recruiter look outside a candidate’s qualification. They look into attributes like passion, dedication and their attitude to sync with existing teams. As long as there are humans in the workforce, the demand for HR recruiters will remain high. “The role of HR can never be replaced by AI. AI can definitely strengthen the information backbone of HR.I agree that some functions of HR would get redundant with the introduction of artificial intelligence in our lives, as bots will overtake humans by sheer speed. ”, says Amitabh Akhauri.

20 percent of Indian enterprises use artificial intelligence. Since 2013, Microsoft Corporation is using AI in the company’s database, big data, and machine learning offerings. According to Intel India commissioned report undertaken by research firm IDC, by mid-2019, about seven in 10 firms are anticipated to deploy AI. Companies like Google and Amazon have already witnessed bottom-line benefits from their AI strategies. These new technologies help to create a growing competitive advantage.  “At Jindal Stainless, we acknowledge the role of AI, which is why we have started working extensively on data”, added Amitabh Akhauri.

AI adoption is still in its early stages. The recruiting industry will progress with AI. AI will continue to escalate and will alter the ways in which humans are indulged in the recruitment process.
