The Delhi Government has increased the minimum wage of unskilled workers from ₹16,506 per month to ₹16,792 per month, while for semi-skilled workers, the minimum wage has been hiked to ₹18,499 per month from ₹18,187 per month. The government headed by Arvind Kejriwal announced this development to relieve Unskilled, Semi-Skilled And Skilled Workers amidst raging inflation.
A government spokesperson said “Delhi government now pays the highest minimum wages to labour classes across India. The increase will give respite to the labour class suffering from the adverse impact of inflation. On chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s directions, the government has increased the dearness allowance of labourers.” Apart from this, the minimum wages of the supervisors and clerks will have also been revised. The monthly wage for non-matriculated employees has been increased from ₹18,187 to ₹18,499 and for matriculating employees from ₹20,019 to ₹20,357.
In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia said “Minimum wages in Delhi are the highest in comparison to any other state. Delhi government is constantly revising the dearness allowance every six months to provide respite to all workers of Delhi from inflation.”
