Delhi CM Kejriwal Assures Temporary MCD Employees Of Regularised Salaries

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, said that all temporary staff of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) would be regularised.

Addressing an MCD event at the Thyagaraj Stadium, where he handed over employment letters to 317 newly regularised employees, the chief minister stated that employees of Delhi's municipal corporation finally received their pay on the first of the month after 13 years.

MCD employees have been paid on time for the last two months and the local body's tax collection has grown since it is led by an "honest dispensation," according to Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, Harsh Malhotra, a Delhi BJP leader, said that between 2007 and 2012, 7,500 employees were confirmed in the MCD, with 11,000 staff verified during the civic body's 2012-17 tenure.

MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi said, “Now everyone's salary is being credited to their accounts on the first day of the month. Sanitation workers are the Municipal Corporation's backbone. The Mega Cleaning Campaign has recently begun. Three thousand people have been included in all 250 wards. On the ground, all officials and representatives are hard at work. The sanitation personnel deserve credit as well. MCD is now completing every duty that was left undone in past years."
