Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, announced the Diwali Bonus for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employees on Tuesday. The chief minister has announced a Diwali bonus of Rs 7,000 for non-gazetted employees of the corporation's Group B, C, and D. "Non-gazetted employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in Group B, C, and D will receive a Diwali bonus of Rs 7,000." "Contractual workers who have been working for the last three years will be given Rs 1,200," Arvind Kejriwal said.
The Delhi chief minister stated in his address that the municipal corporation is doing "good work" in the city. Kejriwal stated that they are "trying to gradually fix the system." In a brief online press conference, he praised the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) decision to provide a Diwali bonus to non-gazetted employees from three different categories as well as daily-wage workers.
Kejriwal said of the recent move to regularise a large number of sanitation workers, "We consider safai karmchari as part of our family." "All MCD employees are now receiving their paychecks on time." Workers had to resort to dharnas and protests previously, but after 14 years, they finally received their salaries on time," he said.
He stated that the MCD has decided to give these bonuses to'malis', 'beldars', ward boys, ward 'aayas', and other employees as a "gift" this holiday season. "With this money, buy sweets, new clothes for your family members, and tell them Kejriwal ji has sent these on Diwali," the chief minister was quoted as saying.
