Time and again studies have shown that adding mini Yoga breaks to your work schedule can prove to be a de-stress antidote and a way to enhance employee productivity at work.
With International Yoga Day approaching on June 21, it comes as no surprise that the union government has proposed a 10-minute Yoga at Office Chair initiative for employees as they juggle between assignments and time-crunching deadlines.
As the name suggests, Y-Break encompasses a series of simple yoga poses that can be easily done while sitting in a chair. The simple 10-minute sequence allows the body to relax and rejuvenate through a combination of muscle movements, and stretching exercises designed to improve blood circulation while adding physical strength and mental agility for an individual.
While the government is taking laudable steps to make yoga an integral part of the workplace, many leading companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS etc have made Yoga a part of their employee well-being policy.
