Accenture has implemented a new leave policy for its employees working in India, beginning 1 September 2023. Employees will receive three sorts of leaves under the new policy: earned leaves, sick and wellness leaves, and casual leaves.
While earned and sick absences were previously available under the prior leave policy, casual leaves will now be available.
Under the renewed policy, the earned leaves which were previously 24, have been reduced to 18. Prior to the revision, earned leaves were considered as vacation hours. The casual and sick leaves have been increased to 12.
The leave year will begin from 1 September, ending 31 August.
Employees will require permission and approvals from the management to avail the earned leaves. While, to avail the sick and casual leaves, they will have to inform their managers. In addition to this, employees will now be allowed to avail two consecutive days of casual leave within a fortnight and those who wish to extend shall obtain approval from their managers.
The revision will allow the management to consider unnotified leaves as misconduct leading to consequences.
