About 11.8 lakh Railway Employees to Get Productivity Linked Bonus

The Ministry of Railways announced bonuses for 11.58 lakh non-gazetted employees. Bonus amount will be equivalent to wages of 78 days for financial year 2019-20.the total amount of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) is estimated to be Rs2081.68 Cr.

The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for the payment of bonus is Rs 7000 per month the maximum amount payable per eligible employee is Rs 17951 for 78 days the payment will be paid for the last year i.e.2019-20 performance.

The timing of the payment of PLB for 2019 20 could not have been better as the festive season is beginning this will motivate the employees for working towards improving the performance of the railways. This Acknowledgement of their work will increase the sense of inclusiveness and belongingness in railway families. It will help increase the productivity level of the employees and help to increase the consumer spending and boosting the demand during the festive times.

The Union Cabinet has also approved bonus through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for 30 lac non-gazetted employees of Central Government which will cost Rs 3737 crores
