75% TCS Staff To Continue WFH; Vacant Office Space to Be Used for R&D

The TCS is planning the reduction of its office going workforce to 25% by 2025.TCS is looking to use the vacant real estate space to house its laboratories and research and development facilities beside using it as a work place for its employees.

The IT giant has sought approval to build new IT parks of 5 million square feet and leasing and other 1 million square feet even though it has announced a massive work from home plan.

TCS announced in April that it is planning to ask the majority of 75% of its employees globally to work from home by 2025. The new model is called the 25/25 model and will require less office space than occupied today.

TCS was able to switch to a distributed delivery model from a highly centralised model with 95% of workforce able to work remotely through their new operating model called Secure Borderless Workspace SBW. With the success of this model TCS was able to announce 25/25 model


TCS plan to stick to hybrid model and will also utilise its office space for R&D it is also hoping  to return to pre COVID-19 level growth by year end.
