The Rajasthan government, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has approved a 4 per cent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for state employees and pensioners.
This increase, on par with the Centre's decision, raises the DA from 46 to 50 per cent, effective from 1 January 2024. Additionally, the state cabinet has announced a 2 per cent reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel.
Similarly, the Assam government has announced a 4 per cent DA hike for government employees, bringing the total DA to 50 per cent. Furthermore, the government plans to prioritise local recruitment for 4th-grade posts in schools and has allocated funds under the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Scheme for solar panels.
Additionally, state government and electricity board employees will receive a 1 per cent reduction in bank loan interest.
