Ford Motors To Raise Worker Wages By 8.2 Percent In Mexico's Chihuahua Plant

Mexican Officials from the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration on Tuesday confirmed that Ford Motors has agreed to raise wages of workers subject to a worker's pending vote.

The negotiation between the automobile company and its union at the Chihuahua plant is likely to yield a 8.2 percent raise for the workers.

The round of negotiation was prompted by the inflationary pressure on the disposable income of the middle class and lower middle class strata of society.

According to a report published by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), there has been a noticeable impact on purchasing power among a large segment of society because of a number of factors ranging from the Russia-Ukraine war, global energy crisis and global economic slowdown in the new normal.

The negotiation is expected to bring some degree of relief to the workers of the Mexican union.
