“We are letting employees choose their preferred working model:” ImageKit

With the market filled with work-from-home (WFH) job opportunities, remote work is no longer a temporary workaround or a pandemic measure. More and more organizations, especially tech companies, are hiring employees for remote openings.

While many companies are embracing hybrid work models, global SaaS start-up ImageKit, has announced a ‘fully remote’ work policy. The start-up will let their employees choose where they want to work – either from their homes or the nearest co-working space. In case an employee chooses to work from a co-working space, the firm will be compensating them for the expenses. Alternatively, the firm will also be providing a one-time home office setup allowance if any employee chooses to work from home. The start-up will also compensate for an industry-standard device of the employee’s choice to work on. Other initiatives that the company is taking include mental health breaks & company meet-ups, no fixed working hours and no-questions asked paid leave among others.

“Companies are built with people from diverse backgrounds, with varied ideas and different working styles. Something that works for me may not work for another employee. With more people preferring to work from remote locations, we decided that it would be ideal to adopt a remote-friendly, flexible policy, and setting up our internal processes around that. We also understand that change is always good, and one might want to step out of their homes to work. Therefore, we let our people choose their work model. These have been tough times and we want to give our people maximum flexibility”, says Rahul Nanwani, Co-founder and CEO, ImageKit.

The Co-founders of ImageKit have continued the practice of living the employee life. Based on their past experiences of working in organisations, they understood that flexibility, compassion & empathy are crucial to a company’s success which, in turn, allows them access to a bigger talent pool as they grow. It was among the many factors that the Co-founders considered while taking the decision to implement the new policies.
