The author has previously been the Director, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (2010-2014). Currently she is the Dean Academic Affairs and Nodal Officer, Rashtriya Uchttar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. With multiple publications and years of experience, she is a veteran in the academic world of tourism and management.
The lockdown due to COVID 19 pandemic has adversely affected tourism but seems to have made a beginning for interest into Indian heritage in the younger generation through the stories of Ramayana, and Mahabharata.
