Vinay Joy is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial practice group in the Bengaluru office. His expertise lies in advising a wide variety of clients on M&A transactions, joint ventures, private equity / venture capital transactions, due diligence exercises and contractual matters. Vinay is also a member of the Firm’s Employment, Labour and Benefits practice and specialises in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters including those arising as a consequence of business transfers and integration of acquired businesses. He regularly advises domestic as well as multinational clients on employment agreements, policies and employee stock option schemes (ESOPs) and also has considerable experience in advising companies and their promoters in carrying out internal investigations, sexual harassment investigations and domestic inquiries.
In recent years, given changing cultural attitudes and advances in technology, many employers in India are now able to offer their employees the opportunity to “work from home” or “telecommuting”. While such an option cannot always be offered by all employers or even to all types of jobs, it helps employers by not requiring as many resources at the workplace (e.g. fewer seats, lesser lights or air conditioning etc.) and benefits society as a whole by decongesting traffic and by marginally reducing the carbon footprint of such workers.
