Platform for online food delivery Zomato has once again drawn the ire of netizens after a student at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi took to social media to complain about how the online firm had changed its mind about the placement.
Hrithik Talwar, a research intern at IIT-Delhi, wrote on X (previously Twitter), "Zomato came to campus, offered 1.6 crore in salary, got the hype, and left."
He also shared a screenshot of the notification, in which it was updated that the application had been withdrawn and urged all applicants to withdraw their applications because Zomato had withdrawn the offer due to the company's constraints.
Tech stocks like Zomato have rebounded after taking a beating last year during a market meltdown, when investors questioned the exorbitant valuations of some Indian startups that had made their stock market debut in recent years.
