Elon Musk’s X will reportedly onboard 100 full time employees for its new trust and safety office in Austin, Texas after he dissolved the trust and safety teams globally following the acquisition of X.
The to-be hired team will oversee content related to child sexual exploitation moderation (CSEM) after the platform faces scrutiny from users.
“At X, we have zero tolerance for Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and we are determined to make X inhospitable for actors who seek to exploit minors,” the company wrote in a blog post. “In 2023, we made clear that our top priority was tackling CSE online.”
The announcement came on the same weekend that X was forced to prohibit searches for "Taylor Swift" after sexually explicit, artificial intelligence (AI)-generated photographs of the singer surfaced on the site.
