A Pune-based labour union for IT employees has criticised Wipro for introducing a new training program for freshers. Harpreet Singh Saluja, President - of Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate NITES believes that the said making the training module mandatory for freshers is a step to further delay the onboarding of freshers.
The program has been designed for the freshers who have been waiting for over 15 months to be onboarded.
"Wipro's sudden change in policy, which demands employees to undergo training again and threatens termination if they do not clear the training with an overall score of at least 60%, is completely unfair and leaves the employees in a difficult situation", says Saluja.
"We strongly condemn Wipro's actions and call upon them to reconsider their decision. Wipro must honour its commitment to its employees and provide them with a fair and just work environment. Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate NITES will continue to stand in solidarity with the affected employees and will take all necessary actions to ensure their rights are protected", he added.
