Twitter Sued By Former Employee Over Refusal To Cover Arbitration Fees

Twitter is reportedly being sued by a former employee. The ex-employee has filed a lawsuit as the Elon Musk-owned platform failed to pay the expected cost of legal arbitration.

According to a report, Twitter, now X Corp, has been accused of refusing to engage in arbitration with former personnel who had been terminated after Musk took over the company.

The former employees were encouraged to use the arbitration process to resolve claims of unpaid wages, unfulfilled severance agreements, and discrimination.

However, the company refused to participate in the process and left almost 2,000 employees who were laid off in 2022 without any resolution.

Shannon Liss-Riordon is a renowned lawyer who is going to represent the former employees of Twitter. She mentions that her team is continually filing arbitrations and is taking calls from current employees who argue that the company has skipped on paying last year’s bonuses.

Musk took charge of Twitter last year and fired around half of the workforce of 7,500 employees in November 2022. The current headcount stands below 2,000 employees.
