In a recent activity, a national daily reported 3,700 PHDs, 50,000 graduates, and 28,000 PGs have applied to fill 62 messenger post in UP Police; position like this requires the minimum skills and has the lowest bar of eligibility. Realizing this situation of an abundance of over-qualified candidates, the department has agreed to conduct a selection test for other vacant posts which have not been filled for over a decade.
Various reports have revealed that the Job crises in the country is getting worse and the number of jobless in the country may increase from 18.3 million in 2018 to 18.9 million in 2019. As per the estimate, about 17 million people apply for the jobs out of which on 5.5 million jobs are generated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had denied the claim of job crisis in India and said that there is a crisis of data of Jobs and not lack of jobs. He mentioned that the traditional criteria of recruitment is not futuristic and up to the mark.
BJP had come out with numerous schemes to uplift the job sectors like Mudra Loan Scheme, Make in India, Skill India, Digital India and many more. The aim of these schemes is to create jobs and boost the employment rate but the country is still facing a major employment crisis.
According to the reports, more than 2 crore candidates had applied for 1 lakh jobs in the Idian Railways, whereas over two lakh applicants applied for 1,100 constable jobs in Mumbai Police this year. The applicants included doctors, lawyers and engineers.
