PM Modi urges media representatives to spread awareness on Coronavirus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held interacted with owners and senior editors of electronic media institutions of the country via video conferencing

In the conferencing, which started around 1pm, PM discussed all the points related to coronavirus and urged media persons to spread maximum awareness about COVID-19 through various media campaigns.

The media representatives PM Modi spoke to included Kalli Purie, Vice-Chairperson, India Today Group; Smita Prakash, Editor, ANI; Anuradha Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director, BAG Network; Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP News Network (ANN); Vineet Jain, Managing director and Director of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd.; Rahul Shivshankar, Editor-in-Chief, Times Now; Kartikeya Sharma, MD of ITV Network; Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief, Republic; Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group and Rajat Sharma, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, India TV.

Elaborating on the interaction, Purie said, “In his detailed interaction with news broadcasters, PM Narendra Modi stressed on the importance of social distancing and staying at home to control the spread of the virus. It was an emotional talk, given the seriousness of the challenge. And it was really heartening to see that the PM seemed completely in control and confident of the situation. We fully support his call to #StayHome and will use our platforms to spread the message. Stay home stay alive."
