PizzaExpress, the British multinational pizza restaurant chain, has appointed Krunal Chahwala as its new chief executive officer (CEO), as announced by its Indian operator Gourmet Investments
In a LinkedIn post, Gourmet Investments expressed excitement about Chahwala's appointment, welcoming him to the team and congratulating him on his new role. With over 18 years of experience in operations, marketing strategy, and digital transformation management, Chahwala brings a wealth of expertise to the position.
Prior to joining PizzaExpress, Chahwala held leadership roles at Devyani International and Yum! Brands, where he played a significant role in overseeing operations for KFC and Pizza Hut.
Gourmet Investments, a part of the Bharti Group founded in 2012, manages a portfolio of international brands including PizzaExpress, Chili’s, Ministry of Crab, and P.F. Chang’s. The company currently operates over 35 restaurants across India, spanning cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
PizzaExpress made its entry into the Indian market in 2012 with the opening of its first restaurant in Mumbai. Since then, it has expanded its presence to over 16 outlets across India, including cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurugram and Noida.
