Retorting to a bitter instance faced by Ola's co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal, the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer on 11th May stated that he will move its entire workload from Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform to its flagship Krutrim AI firm.
The situation worsened when LinkedIn allegedly removed Aggarwal's posts without prior notification. He vehemently criticized the platform for employing AI techniques to enforce what he referred to as ‘woke’ views. In a detailed post, the Ola co-founder questioned the platform's impartiality and accused it of promoting political agendas.
Taking to the social media platform X, Aggarwal declared that Ola would migrate its workload from Azure to Krutrim the following week. Additionally, the Ola CEO extended an offer of complimentary cloud storage for a year to other companies wishing to depart from Azure.
LinkedIn removed Aggarwal’s post on May 6, which referred to the use of the pronoun ‘they’ as an ‘illness,’ citing a violation of its professional community guidelines. "The pronouns issue I wrote about is a woke political ideology of entitlement which doesn't belong in India," he remarked, expressing concern about the platform's potential to suppress dissenting voices.
Aggarwal pledged to collaborate with Indian programmers to develop a social media platform based on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) standards. He emphasized that such measures would grant users control and data ownership, empowering creators over corporations.
