Mumbai Stands At The First Position With Maximum Hiring: Naukri Job Speak Report

The monthly report released by Naukri.com as Naukri job speak report has revealed many aspects of companies across the sectors in terms of hiring. As per the report, the Indian job market witnessed a slight upward trend in September 2022, recording a double-digit growth at +13% YOY and +10% sequential growth. Amidst the festive season, the insurance sector once again topped the list of maximum hiring as it grew by +66 per cent Y-O-Y. Other industries such as BFSI (+64per cent), Travel & Hospitality (+48per cent), Oil & Gas (+43 per cent), Auto (+23per cent), FMCG (+20per cent), and Retail (+17per cent) also continue to do well. On the other hand IT sector mark with a slowdown in hiring employees and recorded -6% YOY de-growth in Sep’22 vs Sep’21. Along with the IT sector, the industry of Medical/ Healthcare also witnessed a decline of -6 per cent. 

As far as the geographical aspects are concerned, Mumbai stands at the first position with maximum hiring of +27 per cent Y-O-Y growth followed by the cities Coimbatore(+25 per cent ), Ahmedabad (+23 per cent), Delhi (+14 per cent), Kolkata (+11 per cent), Bangalore (+7 per cent) etc. In terms of experience level, the demand for professionals across all experienced bands remained steady in Sep’22 vs last year. Professionals with less than 16 years of work experience saw the steepest uptick at +15 per cent followed by 13-16 years of work experience band recording +10 per cent growth. Professionals with 8-12, 4-7, and 0-3 years of experience exhibited positive growth at +10per cent, +8per cent, and +9per cent respectively.

It is notable to see that key sectors of Insurance and Real Estate have maintained their growth momentum and have recorded sterling performances.”
