Most Blinkit Stores Reopened After Wage Protests: Zomato

As per a regulatory filing, online food delivery company Zomato has confirmed on Wednesday that most stores of its grocery unit Blinkit had resumed operations after being shut due to wage protests.

The disruptions had less than 1% impact on Zomato's revenue, the Gurgaon-based company said.

The past week had seen several dark stores remaining shut for the online grocery store.

Media reports had claimed that delivery partners are not happy with the new pay structure that was rolled out by the company a few days ago. The new payout structure is target based and may result in less earnings for the delivery partners as compared to the old model.

On the flip side, the Zomato-backed startup has chosen a compensation model that is beneficial for all the stakeholders and delivery partners have an opt-in option for the new scheme said other media reports.

Blinkit is a grocery and e-commerce platform that works on the instant delivery model in India and currently delivers over 2,00,000 orders every day as per the company.
