Mark Zuckerberg's Meta has also ramped up its focus on developing infrastructure and products based on generative AI like other big tech companies.
As per a report published by Reuters, Facebook's parent company has hired the AI networking chip team from Graphcore. As many as 10 engineers joined Meta a few months back to scale up Meta's AI and machine learning projects, the report says.
This decision will particularly help the company to manage and improve the work at its data centres and build systems based on generative AI. This move is also likely to change Meta's approach to target-based advertising on Facebook and Instagram. It is pertinent to mention that Meta announced the launch of AI-driven tools for advertisers earlier this week.
Meta will be in a position to harness the power of AI to make advertising more specific and relevant for the target audience. It will also be in a position to screen out inappropriate content based on its content guidelines in a more efficient manner.
