Indian startup Meesho has laid off 251 employees in a bid to improve their operational efficiency. Meesho's CEO believes that over-hiring has led to the subpar utilisation of human capital in the e-commerce company.
While the company has been able to address the over-hiring problem in the last few months, the decision-makers at the helm of affairs at Meesho consider downsizing of employees as an important step if it chooses to go public later this year.
