Maharashtra Approves 4% Quota In Promotions For Divyang Employees

The Maharashtra Government has introduced a 4% quota for employees with disabilities in promotions. 

This reservation will be applicable to cadres where the recruitment through direct service is less than 75%. 

In December 2022, Maharashtra became the first state to establish a Divyang department for the differently abled people in the country.

As per Census 2011, there are 59,392 persons with disabilities in Maharashtra and which is 2.63 % of the total population of the State.
