Licious Cuts 80 Jobs In 'Operational Reset'

Licious, a direct-to-consumer meat company, has cut off roughly 3 per cent of its workforce, or approximately 80 employees, as part of a "operational reset." The Bengaluru-based company employs over 3,000 people, including 650 corporate workers and 2,350 in production and supply chain functions.

"Licious, as a brand, sees considerable potential in extending the number of targeted households to help fuel the consumer transfer from conventional markets to contemporary purchasing formats. We are reprioritising our expense outlays in light of the new growth levers. In doing so, we regret having to part ways with those colleagues who have been a part of our journey," the company said in response to media queries.

The eight-year-old business is on track for an annual revenue run rate of Rs 900 crore, with approximately Rs 800 crore in cash from prior fundraising rounds, it added. It is also on target to become operationally profitable by the end of FY25.
