It's The Era Of "Hire Fast, Fire Fast," Says Former BharatPe MD And Co-Founder

Grover condemns the current hiring procedures, claiming that conducting numerous rounds of interviews does not ensure a successful hire

The former MD and co-founder of the financial company BharatPe, Ashneer Grover, advises companies to embrace a "hire fast, fire fast" mentality. According to Grover, candidates behave at their best throughout the interviewing process. He believes that until the candidates aren't given the requisite task to test their skills and accumen, nothing can be assured. But once employed, might not live up to expectations. Grover stressed the ineffectiveness of lengthy notice time and onboarding procedures inn a podcast with YouTuber Ishan Sharma.

Grover condems the current hiring procedures, claiming that conducting numerous rounds of interviews does not ensure a successful hire. He is of the view that throughout these rounds, candidates are inevitably behave well. He maintains that the only way to truly evaluate their performance is to assign duties. Many disagree with this; it's hire quick, fire fast, method!

Grover further explains how companies are spending in heftily on accurate hires. Employers today are going through several iterations. Naturally, the candidate gets prepared for it with time. Someone is at the top of their game when it comes to marketing themselves to you. Only after assigning them assignments can it be ascertained whether the person will work or not.

Grover continued, highlighting the inefficiencies: "We spend three months on the hiring process, and the candidate claims they have to work a two-month notice period at their current company. It makes sense to allow the new hire at least six months to perform as you have committed six months in filling the position. You realise after a year that this is not working.

Therefore, Grover is a strong proponent of onboarding new employees within 15 days and evaluating their performance right away.
