Infosys To Continue Work From Home, Current Approach Works: Claims CEO

When every other IT company is adopting a hybrid work arrangement or calling the employees back to the office for the productivity aspect, Infosys has gone a step ahead in allowing its employees to continue work from home with no mandated fixed number of days in office, stating that the current system was working well for India’s second-largest IT services company. The CEO of Infosys, Salil Prakash said that the company would continue with its flexible approach with respect to employees working from home.

Talking about another hot topic going inside the industry, Parekh said that Infosys doe not support dual employment but he also informed that for the company’s internal projects,  employees are allowed to apply which refers to ‘gig projects’. He said “My sense is over time, we will make all the support necessary to employees so that more and more employees can return to the office. There are of course several client situations which require specific action. Those will be followed as per clients' requirements but wherever we are able to provide some flexibility, we will continue to provide flexibility.”

Due to such flexible approaches, Infosys records a reduction in the attrition figures to 27.1 per cent between July to September. Parekh said the company has seen a constant downfall in attrition in the last 3 quarters. He further added “In our India offices, we have about 45,000 employees in the office at any given time, and this is huge given where we were a few months ago. We are finding that the approach taken so far has been well received,” he said, adding that this number was gradually increasing.” Infosys hired 40,000 freshers in the first six months of the current financial year with intentions to onboard 50,000 more employees during the fisca
