Google Tops Indeed's 'Best Places To Work' Report

Indeed, global job site, revealed today the 50 best places to work in India for 2017, curated from the site’s hundreds of thousands of company reviews from employees. The list is topped by Google with indigenous Indian firms performing strongly in the top five. Bharat Heavy Electricals claimed second place and State Bank of India secured the third position.

Sashi Kumar, Managing Director at Indeed India said, “Company reviews can greatly impact a job seeker's decision on where they apply. While compensation and job security are always top of mind for employees, we are seeing strong company culture and sense of community becoming just as much of a priority.”

While there is a range of industries featured on the list, including tech, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, consumer products and retail, there are similarities seen throughout reviews written by employees that stand out.

Sashi Kumar added, “People describe these top workplaces as ‘inspiring’ and ‘engaging’ by maintaining excellent company culture, ensuring quality leadership, and offering competitive pay and benefits. Employees also praise the companies on this list for being mission-driven organizations that are leaders in their respective industries.”

The list features companies known for valuing and treating their employees well. Tech employers Amazon (#4), Intel (#6), IBM (#8), Cisco (#11) and SAP (#13) feature prominently on the list and famously offer their employees competitive salaries, generous perks and good opportunities for career progression.

Indeed has over 15 million company reviews globally. These companies are the most highly rated on overall employee experience.
