Over time, the Human Resource (HR) function has evolved. Earlier, from just being the function of managing employees to now with the advent of technology the function is no more restricted only to that. The evolution of technology is playing a massive role in evolving the whole HR ecosystem with innovative ideas like Robo-HR, etc.
In the BW People CEO CHRO Conclave 2022, while discussing 75 years journey of HR Function from Manual to Digital: Effective, efficient and dependable solutions using HR Tech. Divya Srivastava, CHRO, GE Healthcare says, “With the evolvement of humankind, HR has evolved. There is a lot happened over the years, but the whole system depends on two things, that is, first, what your organisation needs and secondly, How mature your audience meaning the employees. Anything and everything cannot be followed, so what suits best for your organisation must be followed.”
In addition to this, Abhishek Mehrotra, CHRO, Yubi speaks, “It is more about realisation of where you are using tech, what is the purpose for applying that. Recruitment and payroll are repetitive things where technology has smoothened the process.”
Technology has been the foundation, especially in the last two decades. Tech-enablement has smoothened all the processes and it hasn’t only benefited the employees but the employers as well. Now everything is automated all that you need to work out the insights coming out and spend more time taking action.
Ashish Mittal, Group CHRO, Sreenidhi Educational Group adds, “We need the right blend, we cannot go totally offline or online to serve the purpose. So, we would need human intervention in terms of talking to employees, when you are having escalations, these things cannot be automated. If it is completely technology, it becomes very impersonal at times.”
