Emirates plans to hire an additional 5,000 cabin staff this year to support its upcoming fleet expansion. Last year, more than 8,000 cabin workers joined Emirates as the airline recovered stronger than ever from the epidemic, bringing the total number of cabin crew employed by the carrier to roughly 21,500.
As part of its newest recruitment drive, Emirates will organise open days and examinations in over 460 places around the world. Upcoming open day sites include Paris, London, and Seattle. This year, the airline is focusing on individuals who will be entering the workforce or have previously done so.
The cabin crew will be needed to staff the airline's sizable fleet, which is expected to expand further in the coming years. According to the most recent data from ch-aviation, Emirates has 65 Airbus A350s on order (all -900 variants).
Applicants for cabin crew must meet specific qualifying requirements, including the ability to speak and write fluent English and have at least one year of experience in a hospitality or service capacity. Applicants must also be at least 160 cm (5 ft 2 in) tall, and because they will be headquartered at Dubai International Airport (DXB), they must meet the requirements for a visa to the United Arab Emirates.
Emirates also takes pride in the job development options given to its cabin crew, such as moving up to higher cabin classes and becoming a cabin supervisor, purser, or trainer.
