Humans by nature are very resilient, so no matter what the challenge is, we always seem to find a way to overcome the situation and manage it, said Simin Askari at BW Dialogue Episode 3 on People Power. She further added, “Positive thing we have noticed in the organization is the number of empathy people have for each other, ownership for their roles and extent to which they want to go out and overstretch themselves”.

HR Leaders have repeatedly emphasized technological advancements or digitalization, the ability to sync in with technology-driven execution, and adapt to the situation mentally; still being proactively productive.

As the outbreak hit the country; people were in shock and anxiety about what’s next. Sharing her initial experience about leading through the crisis she said, “These times have tested our agility and we have finally found whether we are capable or incapable of handling tough situations.”
Fighting this crisis from the front, HR leaders deserve credit for ensuring the physical and mental fitness of all the employees and manage the business continuity as well. While assessing her leadership Askari claimed that “In this pandemic, HR has become a real business partner and we are the people making the decision at every step.”
“We are considering a lot of internal transfers, we are not laying off people, trying to ensure that people are secure with their jobs, doing a lot of internal restructuring”, Simin Askari concluded.
