Deloitte Fires Indian Employee For His LinkedIn Post On Hitler

The yesteryear German dictator Hitler's references have hunted many employee jobs in the past few years. In 2019, an Australian BP worker was fired for a breach of conduct owing to a Hitler meme.

Calendars have flipped but talking about Hitler for a corporate employee, still remains, a cautionary rope to walk on.

Recently, a Delloite employee has borne the brunt of a job loss due to his LinkedIn post on the former Nazi dictator.

In the post, which was titled “Friday Inspiration”, he praised Hitler for his charismatic leadership and said that people can learn several things from him.

“Some of the imperative qualities of Hitler were charismatic visionary, magnetic speaker, extremely confident, very intellectual and massive action taker,” he wrote in his post after reading ‘The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler’ by Laurence Rees.

These personal remarks expressed over a professional platform were a breach of the company's internal policies and the said employee was fired as a consequence.

The incident makes one wonder if freedom of speech on social media platforms is absolute on social media platforms.
