Due to the hike in the business of airlines after the pandemic, aviation companies started recruitment drives for cabin crew and pilots. Air India, Air Asia, Indigo, Vistara have started fresh hiring for cabin crew members across the different stations in the country. Along with them, Qatar Airways also announced their recruitment process to be started for the new employees for roles like culinary, corporate and commercial, management, cargo, customer service, engineering, flight operations, ground services, etc.
As per the reports by rating agency of ICRA, India noted 57.7 percent growth in domestic passenger traffic to 84.2 million for 2021-22 as the positive consequences of fast pace of vaccination and downfall in covid infections. Vistara recently conducted a recruitment programme for cabin crew in Mumbai and Bangalore.
While answering one of the questions in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation V K Singh noted that the total job loss in the aviation sector is 19,200 which implies 10 percent of the total workforce in the sector. He said “The government has held discussions with industry participants and stakeholders to address the challenges facing the industry,” Air India conducting walk-in-interviews for cabin crew and also hiring senior pilots for its Airbus A320 fleet and experienced pilots for Boeing 777 planes which Air India flies to the US.
Qatar Airways is also holding recruitment drive in Delhi on September 16 and September 18 2022, regarding to this new hiring wave, Group Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker said
