Bharti Airtel has named Sharat Sinha as the new CEO of Airtel Business, effective 3 June.
Sinha, a seasoned technology professional, joins Airtel Business from Checkpoint Software Technologies, where he served as President of the Asia Pacific region. His extensive career also includes leadership roles at Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and VMware. His early experiences with Ericsson and VSNL provided him with a strong foundation in the telecom sector.
In his new role, Sinha will report to Gopal Vittal, CEO & MD of Bharti Airtel, and will be a member of the Airtel Management Board.
Gopal Vittal expressed his enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, "Sharat's extensive global experience in product management and business leadership across some of the world’s top technology companies will significantly boost Airtel’s ambitions in expanding our connectivity and adjacent services portfolio."
